International Health Workforce Collaborative LogoThis series of International Health Workforce Collaborative (IHWC) conferences brings together policy makers, academics, researchers and practitioners from the United States, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom with responsibility for and interests in medical workforce issues. It includes approximately 20 delegates from each of these countries and guests from several other countries and organizations. Delegates include governmental and non-governmental policy makers, economists, researchers, medical educators, health service clinicians and managers.

Participation in this conference is by invitation only.

The 15th International Health Workforce Collaborative conference will be held in London and Cambridge, UK. It will be taking place from Tuesday 12 May until Friday 15 May, the conference will open with a full day Technical Skills Workshop.

The conference, which will be hosted by Health Education England, will provide delegates with a unique opportunity to discuss key global/local health workforce issues facing our respective countries. It will also provide opportunities for networking and collaboration and time to explore the four key themes of the conference, outlined below, with senior workforce leads joining us to walk through the topics and much more besides.

Delegate Pass:

£450 per delegate (this includes venue hire and all food and refreshments throughout conference hours).

Transportation – £30 per person

We have arranged coaches to collect delegates from the Melia hotel in London on the morning of Thursday 14 May at 08:30 GMT, to travel onto the Cambridge venue. Coaches will collect delegates again on Friday 14 May at 16:00 and return to the Victoria Coach Station, central London.

Entertainment Options:

  • Welcome BBQ – £70 per person
    The welcome BBQ at the Royal College of Physicians venue will start at 7pm until late, there will be welcome refreshments on arrival followed by a range of delicious food hot from the BBQ.

  • Competitive Sightseeing in Cambridge – £20 per person
    A unique way to see the sights of Cambridge. You will work in teams to follow clues and find your way around one of the UK’s picturesque cities, learning about its history. Following the treasure hunt there are prizes to be won during a grand finale quiz held at the conference dinner venue, The Long Barn and Childerley Hall, a short distance away from the conference hotel, transport will be provided.

  • Conference Dinner – £75 per person
    The main conference dinner will be held at The Long Barn and Childerley Hall. The venue is a short distance away from the conference hotel. The evening will include welcome refreshments, the Competitive Sightseeing grand finale quiz and prize giving, followed by a three course dinner accompanied by the nights entertainment.

  • Afternoon Tea – £15 per person
    On the final day, we have on offer a traditional English afternoon tea. You will enjoy a range of classic English sandwiches, cakes and scones with a selection of teas and coffees.
